Carcassonne

Carcassonne, 90 km from the campsite, is a medieval fortified town. It was once an important town on the wine route between the Mediterranean and the rest of Gaul. To see: the Murat hotel, decorated with Aubusson tapestries – the Fine Arts Museum and local library at place Carnot – the Neptune Fountain (18th century) – The Saint Michel Languedoc style Gothic Cathedral – Saint Vincent Church – the Carmelite Chapel (13th century).
